An Ode To Salehe - (New Balance)

A shoebox concept, mixed media on wood. A New Balance concept inspired by Salehe Bembury, a forward thinking designer who's reshaping familiar brands, making them uniquely his own while also building his own Be A Spunge brand. This piece pays homage to Salehe's light hearted and passionate approach to playing with pop colors while almost making them fluid, comforting pastels, adventurous storylines, and various hand feels that make textures seem organic and alive. The piece is also inspired by the freedom of Yoga and Janelle Monae just being Janelle Monae.
